Protection is an area that Marguerite has experience in both initiating and
defending clients. Marguerite also has
extensive knowledge in Advance Personal Plans, Wills, Power of Attorney, Probates/Letters of
Administration, and Conveyancing.
During Marguerite’s 39
years living in Darwin Marguerite has gained an understanding of the challenges
that come with living in the Northern Territory and remote areas. Bowen Lawyers offers telephone conferences to
rural and remote clients. Marguerite has gained a significant
understanding of multicultural and indigenous issues, given her background,
serving on a committee of Multicultural Council, Women advisory Council, working at the Don Dale
Juvenile Detention Centre as a youth worker, and with indigenous clients in
areas such as family, domestic violence and child protection.
Volunteering as an
advisor / supervisor with the Darwin Community Legal Service (DCLS) since 1996
until 2019 and providing legal assistance through Northern Territory Legal Aid
Commission (NTLAC) has given Marguerite the opportunity to assist those in most
need where their financial capacity is at the minimum.
